An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist to join a well-established Biochemistry department in London. This locum role is ideal for a motivated and detail-oriented professional looking to contribute to a high-performing laboratory team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely biochemical analyses to support clinical decision-making and patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Processing and analysing a wide range of biochemical samples using automated platforms and manual techniques.
- Performing quality control procedures.
- Maintaining laboratory equipment.
- Validating results.
- Ensuring compliance with UKAS and ISO 15189 standards.
- Working collaboratively with clinical and laboratory staff.
- Contributing to service improvements.
- Supporting the training of junior team members.
Qualifications and Experiences:
- HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
- BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years’ post-registration experience in Biochemistry.
- Proficient in the use of automated analysers and laboratory information systems.
- Familiarity with UKAS accreditation and ISO 15189 standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
