We are seeking an experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist for a locum position at King George Hospital in Romford, based on the acute medical wards. This is a full-time role that offers the opportunity to work within a busy and dynamic environment, managing a variety of complex medical conditions. The role is available to start immediately, with an hourly pay rate of £28.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in an NHS acute setting and be comfortable managing a diverse caseload of patients with complex medical needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Assessing, treating, and managing patients with a range of acute medical conditions, including those with respiratory, cardiovascular, and musculoskeletal issues.
  • Providing physiotherapy interventions to optimise patient mobility, prevent de-conditioning, and assist in discharge planning.
  • Conducting initial assessments, developing individualised treatment plans, and providing hands-on therapy, including mobilisation, breathing exercises, and postural support.
  • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care and positive outcomes.
  • Managing your own caseload, prioritising patients based on clinical need, and contributing to ward rounds and patient progress reviews.
  • Working efficiently under pressure and maintaining excellent communication with patients and colleagues alike.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy.
  • HCPC registered Physiotherapist.
  • Significant experience working in NHS acute medical settings, particularly on medical wards.
  • Experience in managing a varied caseload of patients with complex medical conditions.
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory, cardiovascular, and musculoskeletal conditions in the acute setting.
  • Ability to assess, plan, and deliver appropriate physiotherapy interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the ward and patients.
