About the role: The Pharmacy team at Pulse is seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 5 Pharmacy ACT Technician to join our Dispensary Department in London. This full-time position offers a competitive pay rate and the opportunity to work in a dynamic hospital environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- You will perform final accuracy checks on prescriptions prepared by other pharmacy staff to ensure they are correct and safe for patient use.
- You will identify and rectify any potential errors in prescriptions, such as incorrect dosages or medication types.
- You will ensure that all prescriptions comply with legal and regulatory standards.
- You will maintain high standards of patient safety by verifying that the correct medication is dispensed to the right patient.
- You will keep accurate records of all checks performed and any errors detected.
- You will work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth operation of the pharmacy.
- You may assist in training new staff on accuracy checking procedures and protocols.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician.
- NVQ3 in Pharmaceutical Services or medicines management.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
- A minimum of 6 months recent UK NHS hospital experience.
- Strong background in hospital pharmacy.
- Excellent team management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
