Role: Locum MMT Pharmacy Technician
Banding: Band 4 (with progression to Band 5)
Location: London
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 3 months
Rate: £15 - £17 per hour
Working Pattern:
- Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, Weekdays: 7:30am - 7:30pm.
- Week 2: Wednesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday, Weekdays: 7:30am - 7:30pm, Weekends: 8:00am - 7:00pm.
About the role
The Pharmacy team at Pulse is seeking a dedicated and skilled Medicines Management Technician to join our team in London. This role involves working on a rota basis, ensuring the safe and effective management of medicines. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress from Band 4 to Band 5, reflecting their development and contribution to the team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- You will ensure accurate dispensing and distribution of medications.
- You will support the implementation of medicines optimisation strategies.
- You will conduct medicines reconciliation and provide advice on medication management.
- You will maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- You will collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance patient care.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
- Working towards Accredited Checking and/or Medicines Optimisation Technician Certificate(s).
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacy technician.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a pharmacy.
- Previous experience in prison or mental health pharmacy settings is desirable.
Experience:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy software and systems.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
