About the Role
Pulse is seeking a dedicated and experienced Rotational Pharmacist to join our team in Aylesbury. As a Rotational Pharmacist, you will work in all sections of the pharmacy service, including the dispensary, wards/clinical pharmacy services, medicines resource centre (including medicines information and aseptic services). The post holder is expected to contribute to the development of pharmacy services to the Trust and to promote the highest standards of professional practice, adhering to all Trust policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- You will assess prescriptions for legality and appropriateness.
- You will assemble and label medicines accurately.
- You will confirm the identity of dispensed medicines.
- You will communicate with medical staff and patients.
- You will dispense clinical trials and provide information on medicines.
- You will manage formulary procedures.
- You will provide ward/clinical pharmacy services.
- You will educate patients and carers on drug therapy.
- You will record significant information in clinical records.
- You will prioritize workload and assist senior pharmacists.
- You will provide a medicines information service.
- You will record and research enquiries.
- You will communicate solutions and maintain electronic records.
- You will provide aseptic services for chemotherapy, nutrition mixtures, and injectables.
- You will maintain records related to aseptic and cytotoxic services.
- You will supervise junior staff and train trainees.
- You will participate in clinical pharmacy training programs.
- You will engage in training on clinical, technical, and management topics.
- You will act as a role model and mentor.
- You will support team morale and be approachable.
- You will participate in appraisals and maintain professional development.
- You will participate in emergency duty, onācall, weekend, and holiday services.
What we are looking for in a Rotational Pharmacist
- Accredited by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- A master's degree in pharmacy (MPharm).
- Experience in the training and development of junior staff.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic competence in a range of IT skills.
- Ability to perform high-level calculations.
