Pulse Mental Health is currently recruiting for an experienced Band 7 / Band 8a Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist to join a mental health team in Oldham, Greater Manchester. Responsibilities

As a Clinical Psychologist / Counselling Psychologist, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality psychological assessment, formulation, and evidence-based talking therapies to adults with complex mental health presentations.
  • Manage your own caseload and provide person-centred interventions tailored to individual needs.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans designed to support recovery and improve psychological wellbeing.
  • Utilise a range of therapeutic approaches appropriate to patient needs.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure integrated and effective care.
  • Complete clinical documentation, reports, and risk assessments in line with professional standards.
  • Contribute to care planning, clinical discussions, and service development initiatives.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical governance and professional practice.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Current HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Experience delivering psychological therapies to individuals with complex mental health needs.
  • Experience completing psychological assessments, formulations, and treatment planning.
  • Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and report-writing skills.
  • Previous NHS experience.
  • Experience working within adult mental health services.
  • Knowledge of a range of evidence-based therapeutic models.
  • Experience working at Band 7 or Band 8a level.
