Biomedical Scientist in Microbiology

Banding: Band 6

Location: Gloucestershire

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Ongoing

Working Pattern: Core hours only

Hourly Rate: £17-26

We are currently seeking a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist specialising in Microbiology to join our client’s team in Gloucester. This is a full-time, ongoing position working core hours only, offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to contribute to a busy and well-established laboratory service.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will perform culture, identification, and sensitivity testing of clinical specimens. You will detect bacterial infections using manual and automated techniques.

Qualifications and Experience

  • - HCPC registration
  • - Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent
  • - Experience in Microbiology within a clinical laboratory
  • - Experience with culture and sensitivity testing
  • - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • - NHS experience (preferred)
