We're partnering with one of the UK's largest digital consumer platforms to hire a Lead Data Scientist into a newly formed Data Science capability. This is a genuine greenfield opportunity to help shape how machine learning influences customer engagement, subscriptions, retention and revenue growth across a business processing hundreds of thousands of events per second and managing petabytes of behavioural data. You’ll be joining at a pivotal stage as the organisation continues its transformation towards a subscription‑led model, with Data Science becoming a critical part of future growth.

What you’ll be working on:

  • Subscription propensity modelling
  • Churn prediction and retention analytics
  • Customer segmentation and personalisation
  • Dynamic pricing and offer optimisation
  • Uplift modelling and causal inference
  • Experimentation frameworks and A/B testing
  • Model monitoring and performance optimisation

You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Editorial and Commercial teams to translate customer behaviour into actionable insight and measurable business outcomes.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years in Data Science or Machine Learning
  • Strong Python and SQL
  • Experience deploying production ML models
  • Strong grounding in statistics, probability and machine learning theory
  • Experience working with large‑scale customer data sets
  • Background in subscription, consumer, media, gaming, e‑commerce, fintech or similar environments

Experience with recommendation systems, propensity modelling, retention, personalisation or monetisation challenges would be particularly valuable.
