Most QA roles talk about automation. This one is about building it. I'm working with a growing technology business that is investing heavily in the future of its quality engineering function and is looking for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to play a key role in that journey. You'll be joining at an exciting stage as the team continues to expand its Playwright capability alongside an existing Selenium estate. This is an opportunity to help shape frameworks, influence testing strategy, and drive automation standards across the engineering organisation. This isn't a role where you'll simply maintain someone else's framework. They're looking for someone who has built automation frameworks from scratch, understands the decisions behind the architecture and enjoys solving complex testing challenges.

What you'll be doing:

  • Building and enhancing Playwright automation frameworks
  • Working with existing Selenium frameworks
  • Driving API automation testing across the platform
  • Developing automated test solutions using Java
  • Collaborating closely with developers and engineering teams
  • Influencing quality engineering best practice
  • Helping improve automation coverage, reliability and delivery speed

What they're looking for:

  • Strong Playwright experience
  • Selenium expertise
  • Java automation experience
  • API automation testing experience
  • Rest Assured
  • Postman
  • Experience building automation frameworks from scratch
  • Strong understanding of modern QA and Agile environments

Why this role stands out:

  • Opportunity to shape the future automation strategy
  • High level of technical ownership and influence
  • Strong engineering culture
  • Modern technology environment
  • Clear opportunity to make a visible impact
  • Fast two-stage interview process
