Salary: up to £95,000 + Benefits
I'm currently working with a business going through a significant technology transformation and they're looking to hire a Solution Architect who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and helping shape the future direction of cloud platforms. This role is not about simply following a set of requirements or drawing diagrams. You'll work closely with engineering teams, stakeholders, and business leaders to design scalable, secure, and resilient solutions that support a growing technology estate. Your influence will extend over architecture decisions, cloud strategy, and how technology is delivered across the organization. The environment is heavily cloud-focused, so we are looking for someone who understands modern architecture patterns and can bridge the gap between technical teams and the wider business function.
Responsibilities
- Designing end-to-end cloud solutions across multiple business systems.
- Working with engineering teams to define architecture standards and best practices.
- Leading technical discussions around scalability, security, resilience, and performance.
- Supporting the migration and modernisation of existing platforms.
- Producing high-level and low-level solution designs.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Providing technical leadership and guidance throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or similar role.
- Strong cloud experience, ideally within Azure environments.
- Experience designing distributed, cloud-native applications and services.
- Good understanding of APIs, integration patterns, and modern application architectures.
- Knowledge of security, governance, and cloud best practices.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience working closely with engineering teams and delivery functions.
This is a genuine opportunity to join during a period of transformation where architecture is viewed as a strategic function rather than a governance exercise. You'll have the chance to influence technology decisions, help shape cloud strategy, and work alongside experienced engineers who are passionate about building modern platforms the right way. If you're an architect who enjoys balancing technical depth with business impact and wants to play a key role in a cloud-first environment, I'd be happy to share more details.
