Pulse Executive (a Pulse Group Service Line) has been exclusively retained to appoint a Chief Technology Officer on behalf of a confidential private equity-backed technology business.

This is a rare opportunity to join an established software business at a pivotal stage in its evolution. The organisation has already invested significantly in modernising its technology platform, product capability and data strategy. The foundations are in place. The next Chief Technology Officer will lead the execution of that vision while helping position the business for its next phase of growth and value creation.

Reporting directly to the COO, you'll lead a global technology function spanning Product, Engineering, Data, AI, Security, Infrastructure and Business Applications.

This is a broad executive leadership role requiring equal strengths in technology, commercial leadership and organisational development.

The Role

As Chief Technology Officer you will:

  • Lead the technology strategy and execution across a global software platform.
  • Own Product, Engineering, Data, AI, Security and Technology Operations.
  • Develop and coach an established technology leadership team.
  • Drive delivery of an ambitious product and technology roadmap.
  • Continue the evolution of a modern cloud-based SaaS platform.
  • Champion AI adoption where it delivers genuine commercial value.
  • Partner closely with the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board.
  • Support the business through future private equity value creation and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure technology continues to be recognised as a competitive advantage for the business.

About You

We're looking for an executive technology leader who combines technical credibility with commercial judgement.

You'll likely bring:

  • Experience as a CTO, Chief Product & Technology Officer, Chief Digital Officer or senior technology executive.
  • A background within SaaS, software, platform or product-led businesses.
  • Experience leading Product, Engineering and Data functions.
  • A track record of modernising technology platforms and engineering organisations.
  • Strong understanding of cloud technologies, modern architecture and AI-enabled products.
  • Experience working within private equity-backed or investor-led environments.
  • Board-level communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A passion for building high-performing leadership teams and developing people.

Why Apply?

This isn't a turnaround.

It isn't a business looking for someone to rewrite the strategy.

You'll inherit a clear roadmap, an experienced leadership team and the opportunity to lead one of the most commercially important functions in the organisation during a significant period of growth.

For the right individual, this represents an opportunity to influence not only technology, but the future direction and value of the business.
