An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Logistics and Warehouse Manager with our Company. We are an established construction products distributor servicing London and the South East of England. We are a small expanding company and you will liaise with all departments enabling you to fulfil your role and help you feel part of our successful team.
- STAFF SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP ABILITY: You must have previous experience in the management of teams as you will be responsible for managing both warehouse staff and drivers. You will have to make sure that they are adequately trained and prepared for their roles and be able to lead by example.
- INVENTORY CONTROL: You will be required to manage stock movements, undertake periodic stock takes and keep accurate records of goods in and out.
- OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT: You will be required to ensure the smooth running of the warehouse operations including receiving, storing, order picking and shipping of goods, including organising courier services.
- SAFETY COMPLIANCE: You will be responsible for the general cleanliness and tidiness of the warehouse and yard and the enforcing of safety policies to ensure a safe working environment for all team members. You must be able to identify areas for improvement and be able to implement strategies to enhance efficiency.
- PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS: You should be able to address operational challenges proficiently including the planning of daily delivery routes for all drivers.
- TECHNICAL ABILITIES: You should be computer literate and be familiar with platforms such as Microsoft. Training will be given for our in-house systems.
- COMMUNICATION SKILLS: You must be clear and confident in both verbal and written communication. You should be able to easily interact with all staff, suppliers and customers.
- ORGANISATIONAL ABILITY: You will be required to have a strong ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks. You will need to keep within delivery targets, be able to review costs and meet deadlines consistently.
- TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT: You will be responsible for the general management of our fleet of vans, which will include maintaining, servicing and the general upkeep of. We are FORS accredited so you must have full knowledge of this and be able to keep detailed records accordingly.
If you have a current fork lift licence, that would be preferable but not essential. It is essential that you have a full UK licence along with van driving experience. Having a 7.5 tonne operators licence will be preferable. You may need to cover drivers absent due to holidays or sickness. You will be responsible for keeping accurate updated records of stock levels, delivery and transport costs. This role can be physically demanding and you will need to be fit and able.
Salary: Negotiable (based on experience)
21 days holiday + Bank holidays
Hours: 8.00am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday only
