About the Role

The Financial Controller will be primarily responsible for managing the statutory and management reporting requirements of Pulse Clean Energy’s business as well as managing a small finance team. The role reports to the Head of Finance. This role is based in our office in Victoria, at least 4 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing statutory accounts under FRS102 for 20 statutory entities using Caseware cloud software, processing any annual adjustments as required.
  • Preparing group consolidated accounts, accounting for acquisitions and disposals in line with reporting standards and associated notes and disclosures.
  • Ensuring the annual audit is finalised to strict deadlines to ensure the group meets external bank covenants, answering audit queries and returning requests in a timely manner.
  • Effectively manage other members of the finance team, providing support and direction as well as motivating and engaging them.
  • Manage the monthly payroll process.
  • Line management responsibility for a Financial Accountant and Finance Assistant.
  • Production of detailed monthly management accounts report and commentary.
  • Working with other members of the finance team and business to ensure accurate annual budgets are produced and then providing regularly updated P&L and cashflow forecasting through the year.
  • Annual financial statement preparation for all legal entities and the consolidated Group and liaising with audit for clean sign-off.
  • Legal entity compliance management, working with Company Secretarial providers to ensure statutory compliance and corporate governance.
  • Provide supporting information to tax advisors to assist with corporation tax compliance, reporting and strategic tax planning.
  • Ensure all underlying accounting records and reconciliations are maintained in accordance with best practice.
  • Aid in preparing quarterly reports, KPIs and other management results as required for internal management, Board and the investors.
  • Take a hands‑on approach where required, processing entries for all ledgers as necessary.
  • Involvement in any one‑off activities such as asset divestments/acquisitions/financings – providing due diligence capability and technical accounting support.
  • Provide business partnering to the wider business and key stakeholders including the investors.
  • Develop, maintain and ensure compliance to accounting policies and supporting procedures.
  • Participation in treasury tasks such as bank account management and daily cash monitoring and forecasting.
  • Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Fully-qualified in ACCA, ACA or equivalent and at least 5 years post-qualified experience.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within either a renewable energy or infrastructure/property business.
  • Organised, ability to multi-task and prioritise workload.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration across teams and with external stakeholders.
