Band 6 Biomedical Scientist Microbiology Locum – Watford * Position: Biomedical Scientist – Microbiology * Banding: 6 * Location: Watford * Rate: £26.00 – £28.00 P/H Job Description: The Biomedical Science team at Pulse is currently recruiting a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist in Microbiology to work in a busy hospital in Watford. We are looking for a Biomedical Scientist who can make a real difference in supporting the laboratory’s Microbiology service. You should share our passion and drive to ensure that our patients receive quality and compassionate care and work with us to ensure the Trust continues its journey towards ‘great people, great place.’ What will you be doing in this Biomedical Scientist role? Perform microbiological tests on a variety of clinical samples, including blood, urine, tissue, and other body fluids, to identify pathogens and determine their susceptibility to antibiotics. Ensure all laboratory procedures comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements. Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning correctly. Troubleshoot and report any malfunctions.
