The position is for a Fire and Security Systems Installation Engineer. This is a full-time, on-site role based in London and surrounding counties, with occasional nationwide travel to work on high-security systems at solar farm sites.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems in accordance with industry standards and regulations, including BS 5839.
- Install and configure industrial-grade CCTV systems, including cameras, recording equipment, and monitoring software, to meet client specifications.
- Install and integrate access control and security systems, including card readers, keypads, and biometric devices, ensuring effective control of entry and exit points.
- Install and maintain perimeter security systems at solar farms and renewable energy sites nationwide.
- Carry out electrical wiring and ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Test, inspect, and troubleshoot installed systems to ensure full functionality, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Sales teams, and fellow engineers to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Complete all installation documentation and job-related paperwork accurately and promptly.
Proficient in Equipment Installation and Maintenance for fire alarm systems, CCTV, and security systems. Strong background in Electrical Engineering and Electrical Wiring, with an understanding of safety codes and regulations. Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering concepts as they relate to security system installations. Strong organisational and time management skills to manage multiple projects effectively. Relevant certifications or qualifications in engineering, electrical, or security-related fields are advantageous. Previous experience in the fire and security system industry is preferred but not mandatory. Commitment to maintaining high safety standards and attention to detail.
