The position is for a Fire and Security Systems Installation Engineer. This is a full-time, on-site role based in London and surrounding counties, with occasional nationwide travel to work on high-security systems at solar farm sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems in accordance with industry standards and regulations, including BS 5839.
  • Install and configure industrial-grade CCTV systems, including cameras, recording equipment, and monitoring software, to meet client specifications.
  • Install and integrate access control and security systems, including card readers, keypads, and biometric devices, ensuring effective control of entry and exit points.
  • Install and maintain perimeter security systems at solar farms and renewable energy sites nationwide.
  • Carry out electrical wiring and ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards and regulations.
  • Test, inspect, and troubleshoot installed systems to ensure full functionality, reliability, and performance.
  • Work closely with clients to understand requirements and provide technical support where needed.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Sales teams, and fellow engineers to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Complete all installation documentation and job-related paperwork accurately and promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Equipment Installation and Maintenance for fire alarm systems, CCTV, and security systems.
  • Strong background in Electrical Engineering and Electrical Wiring, with an understanding of safety codes and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering concepts as they relate to security system installations.
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving technical issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and system schematics.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in engineering, electrical, or security-related fields are advantageous.
  • Previous experience in the fire and security system industry is preferred but not mandatory.
