To provide an effective procurement service for our UK sites, ensuring material is available when required to the expected quality levels and at the best price whilst keeping stock levels to a minimum. Working as part of a purchasing team using Epicor (our ERP system) and driving initiatives to improve purchasing strategies and performance.

Your Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Develop supplier relationships for optimal service and pricing.
2. Procure materials to meet production schedules.
3. Negotiate purchase prices competitively.
4. Raise purchase orders in Epicor ERP system.
5. Complete traceability documentation such as purchase guides.
6. Use MRP to maintain cost-effective stock levels.
7. Apply Just in Time (JIT) principles.
8. Seek cost reductions to improve profit margins and meet KPIs.
9. Understand in-house manufacturing capabilities.
10. Provide quotation support to the sales team.
11. Monitor and follow up on outstanding orders.
12. Update delivery dates in Epicor accurately.
13. Inform production of any issues and resolve shortages promptly.
14. Investigate supplier discrepancies and issues.
15. Assist in other commercial tasks as needed.
16. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
17. Perform other duties as workload requires.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in procurement or purchasing roles.
• Knowledge of electronics components.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with ERP and MRP systems.
• Negotiation skills with suppliers.
• Ability to read engineering drawings/datasheets (advantage).
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Flexible and ethical work approach in a fast-paced environment.

Computer Skills:

• Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook
• ERP and MRP systems
