Job Summary

Provide the highest standard of remote technical support to Pulsar customers while delivering on-site technical services safely, efficiently, and professionally.

Conduct testing across the Pulsar product range, diagnose faults, and perform repairs and maintenance on system hardware to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  • Principal Duties And Responsibilities
  • At Customer locations
  • Initial Setup & commissioning of newly installed equipment
  • Health check & measurement verification of existing equipment
  • Logically diagnose, determine & apply corrective action for measurement issues
  • Service/Repair of measurement systems
  • Deliver customer training of measurement systems
  • Identify opportunities for repeat site service business
  • Testing and verifying new product developments
  • Assess risks of work location and activities
  • At Head Office
  • Provide remote technical support for Pulsar Measurement products via telephone, email, and other communication channels
  • Assist with servicing products returned for repair
  • Prepare Risk Assessments & Method Statements for submission prior to customer site visits
  • Assist with testing new product developments.
  • Resolving technical customer queries liaising with Sales/Quality/Engineering/Product Management teams as necessary
  • Feedback updates in H&S practices and requirements for different sites and industries
  • Provide VOC feedback to Product Management/Quality/Engineering teams for product enhancement & NPI purposes
  • Travel

Travel estimated to be no greater than 80% of the working week.

Travel includes but is not limited to UK customer locations, and overseas distributor/customer locations.

Overnight stays will be required based upon customer site locations.

  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical electrical/electronic engineering background.
  • A sound, logical approach to learning and problem solving.
  • Good understanding of industrial measurement equipment and measurement techniques.
  • Experience servicing/repairing electrical equipment; including soldering to component level is preferred.
  • Good understanding of on-site health and safety requirements employed throughout target industries.
  • Ability to safely work alone and with others as part of a team.
  • Confident and calm telephone manner.
  • Good time management and planning skills.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Share Point, Teams
  • Previous use of CRM software.

Education And Competences

  • Professional Competence
  • Good understanding of basic electronic circuits. A formal qualification in electrical/electronic engineering preferred
  • Full clean driving license
  • Industry recognised health and safety qualification desired
