The Data Centre Manager (DCM) is a key senior position in the business who owns and takes full responsibility for all aspects of operation of 2 Pulsant Data Centres (DCs) - Manchester and Rotherham.

Location: NW-1 (Manchester Data Centre)
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the team by promoting company values and overseeing training, development, and performance.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental standards across the site.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and resource planning to maintain uninterrupted 24/7 operations.
- Support budget planning and control site expenditure within approved processes.
- Oversee all maintenance activities, contracts, and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
- Drive energy efficiency and data hall performance, identifying opportunities for infrastructure improvements.
- Manage service management processes including incidents, change, problems, and RCA reporting.
- Ensure all on-site work meets safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain high levels of client satisfaction through effective communication, service delivery, and client tours.
- Collaborate with Project Management to deliver client requirements to agreed milestones.
- Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and a current site Risk Register.
- Optimise site capacity (space, power, connectivity) and conduct regular site inspections to maintain standards.
What / who we’re looking for:
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Experience working in a mission-critical data centre environment with a strong understanding of data centre infrastructure.
- Client-facing experience, including handling challenging situations.
- People management experience.
- Enthusiastic, driven, flexible, and proactive approach.
- Excellent analytical, process, documentation, written, and spoken communication skills.
- High accuracy, attention to detail, and strong commercial awareness.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively.
- Knowledge of relevant UK regulations, including H&S legislation, ISO 27001, ISO 14000, and PCI.
