On site role based at Pulsant's South Gyle (Edinburgh) data centre - one of our largest sites and Scotland's most connected data centre. 12-hour shifts, 4 on 4 off. Days (7am - 7pm) and nights (7pm - 7am). Develop and grow your skills via our extensive learning and development pathways and company provided Udemy license.

About Pulsant: Pulsant is a leading UK data centre and digital infrastructure platform which provides highly interconnected colocation and private Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) capabilities nationwide. Our dedicated team of around 300 professionals (with an average tenure of 7 years), support around 700 clients across the UK.

Role overview: In this varied role, you'll provide first-fix support on M&E and minor fabric repairs, oversee and coordinate contractors, and ensure all Health & Safety requirements are met to the highest standard. You'll deliver small project works both independently and as part of a team, while also offering technical guidance and supervision on larger tasks. With the ability to contribute to reports and audits for the management team, you'll play a key part in keeping our operation running smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver responsive, high-quality support to internal and external clients, consistently exceeding expectations.
  • Maintain accurate records, complete reports, and ensure timely updates across all systems.
  • Uphold strict health and safety, security, and compliance standards across the site and facilities.
  • Follow Pulsant processes, including incident escalation and access control procedures.
  • Monitor systems, environment, and M&E infrastructure.
  • Manage tickets efficiently, logging issues and providing timely, professional responses.
  • Support day-to-day site operations, ensuring security, integrity, and smooth functionality.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PPM) and ensure facility upkeep and reliability.
  • Manage stock, assets, and critical spares within the data centre.
  • Escort and assist third-party vendors and engineers on site.
  • Contribute to infrastructure rollouts, migrations, decommissions, and refresh projects.
  • Capture and maintain accurate asset data, including photos and serial numbers for auditing and troubleshooting.
  • Involvement with testing and handover, and knowledge and understanding of any new M&E infrastructure installed monitoring the facility.
  • Responsible for undertaking the duties of an LV Authorised person on site, including planning, documentation and implementation with a strict adherence to safety protocols.
  • This role requires the willingness of providing holiday cover and overtime support within the team and occasionally other sites within the region.
  • As part of this role, you will be required to handle confidential information and/or sensitive data in a professional manner and in line with existing Company processes and policies.
  • Whilst this person will predominantly work at our South Gyle data centre, occasionally there will be a requirement to work at one of our other data centres in Edinburgh/North East England.

What / who we're looking for:

  • Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer, with experience working within a critical, industrial or commercial environment.
  • Electrical training and qualifications e.g., 18th edition wiring regulations.
  • Basic IT skills, Word and Excel.
  • Experience in some of the following would be very beneficial - L.V. switching, HVAC Systems, UPS Circuitry, Generators, BMS Systems, Fire Preventative Systems.
