Are you a HGV Technician / Mechanic looking for a new exciting role in a growing and expanding business? We are looking for a HGV Technician to join our team in Worksop. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of Tractor units, Rigids, Vans and Trailers.

Salary: £39,520 / £19ph; OTE: £48,000 (OTE based on total average earnings of Technicians in the garage over a 3-month period).

Hours of work: Monday to Friday; 6:00am – 14:30pm and 10:00am – 18:30pm alternating weeks. Overtime available.

Responsibilities:

  • Service, inspection, maintenance and repair of Tractor units, Rigids, Vans and Trailers.
  • Electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair and installation.
  • Overhaul electrical equipment and components.
  • Setting and operating of machine tools and equipment.
  • Welding and metal working.
  • Department of Transport (MOT) testing preparation.
  • Parts ordering and stores management.
  • Support team members including Apprentice Technicians as required.
  • Accurately record time and detail of completed jobs.
  • Carry out inspection and repair of workshop equipment as directed.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Maintenance or equivalent or proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role in vehicle maintenance.
  • Diagnostics skills / qualifications – desirable.
  • A valid Class 1 licence – desirable.
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
