Job Description

We are now seeking to recruit a Sales Ledger Clerk.

You will be responsible for checking all sales ledgers for the hotel and ensuring that all supporting documentation, files and debtors are up to date.

You are expected to control the accounts of the ledger, maintain excellent spoken English, and have an excellent telephone manner.

The role requires working closely with other departments including Reception, Reservations, Conference & Banqueting, and Meeting & Events, carrying out a variety of tasks as needed.

Duties

  • Check the transfer of client accounts from the Front Office to the back office.
  • Ensure all supporting documentation, vouchers and signatories are present to enable the payment of accounts.
  • Liaise with the Front Office Manager, Meeting & Events Manager, Reservations Manager and Conference & Banqueting Manager regarding client accounts.
  • Ensure all queries are dealt with within 24 hours.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date debtor files and records for audit purposes.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date purchase order files for client accounts that work with purchase orders.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date contract rate files for all client accounts.
  • Control all paymaster accounts and account queries awaiting sales ledger transfers.
  • Ensure that company procedures are followed in respect to payment delay.
  • Verify all credit card transactions for completeness and formally reconcile the accounts on a daily basis.

Qualifications

Ideally you should have previous knowledge and understanding of the OPERA system.
