We are looking for a HGV Technician/Mechanic to join our team in Dagenham. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy goods vehicles and trailers for Tesco.

Salary & Benefits

  • OTE £60,000 (OTE based on total average earnings of Technicians in the garage over a 3 month period)
  • Overtime available paid at £34.69ph

Responsibilities

  • Service, inspection, maintenance and repair of trucks and trailers
  • Electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair and installation
  • Overhaul electrical equipment and components
  • Setting and operating machine tools and equipment
  • Welding and metalworking
  • Department of Transport (MOT) testing preparation
  • Parts ordering and stores management
  • Support team members including Apprentice Technicians as required
  • Accurately record time and detail of completed jobs
  • Carry out inspection and repair of workshop equipment as directed

Qualifications

  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Maintenance or equivalent or proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role in vehicle maintenance
  • Proficient in using hand tools, power tools
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
