We are looking for a HGV Technician/Mechanic to join our team in Dagenham. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy goods vehicles and trailers for Tesco.
Salary & Benefits
- OTE £60,000 (OTE based on total average earnings of Technicians in the garage over a 3 month period)
- Overtime available paid at £34.69ph

Responsibilities
- Service, inspection, maintenance and repair of trucks and trailers
- Electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic fault diagnosis, repair and installation
- Overhaul electrical equipment and components
- Setting and operating machine tools and equipment
- Welding and metalworking
- Department of Transport (MOT) testing preparation
- Parts ordering and stores management
- Support team members including Apprentice Technicians as required
- Accurately record time and detail of completed jobs
- Carry out inspection and repair of workshop equipment as directed
Qualifications
- Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Goods Maintenance or equivalent or proven experience as an HGV Technician or similar role in vehicle maintenance
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Opportunities to gain training IRTEC LOLER / Weight Test BPW Operator Licence Awareness Deck Training FLT (new & refreshed)
