We are looking for a Technical Buyer to join our Christchurch, Dorset team! The Technical Buyer is responsible for executing complex or technical procurement activities, including high-value purchases. This role negotiates pricing and contract terms, drives sourcing efforts and supplier performance to meet cost, quality and delivery objectives.
Your Challenge
- Manage supplier order books, liaising with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to meet deadlines.
- Proactively plan and execute the procurement of components, using ERP system to interpret demand.
- Raise RFQs and assess quotations, using judgment to place orders, negotiate pricing, lead times and terms, to ensure purchases meet needs of business.
- Provide delivery updates to key stakeholders and ensure internal communication tools are maintained.
- Drive continuous improvement across your supplier base, e.g. pricing, delivery performance.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships, communicating issues effectively to find resolutions.
- Resolve invoice and goods in discrepancies.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract negotiations and supplier management.
- Proficiency with ERP systems.
- Demonstrated negotiation experience with measurable cost savings or value creation.
- Experience supporting complex programs or engineered products.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
