The Opportunity: As Digital Director for Dr. Barbara Sturm you will lead the global Ecommerce and Consumer Marketing Teams, driving online revenue, elevating site experience and shaping best‑in‑class 360 consumer journeys. The role provides strategic leadership across trading, site experience, CRM, Paid Media and Digital innovation to ensure every touchpoint reflects a cohesive, elevated brand experience.
You will partner closely with global cross‑functional teams to align Digital initiatives with business priorities and deliver impactful 360 plans from concept through to execution. Alongside this, the role will lead a dedicated team of 12 individuals, empowering them to deliver best‑in‑class Digital execution and fostering a high‑performance, collaborative culture.
We are looking for a strategic, forward‑thinking leader with excellent communication skills and a passion for digital excellence – someone energised by a fast‑paced environment and excited to help shape the future of the brand! This is a fixed‑term contract for 6‑9 months.
What you’ll get to do:
- Strategic and team leadership: Define, develop and implement the global Ecommerce and Consumer Marketing strategy for Dr. Barbara Sturm, driving online revenue growth, customer experience and brand equity. Collaborate with key stakeholders (brand and markets globally) to align Digital goals with overall business objectives. Provide clear leadership and guidance to the Digital Team supporting daily execution and priority‑setting; while fostering a collaborative, high‑performance environment focused on promoting teamwork and professional development.
- Trading and site experience: Oversee all trading and site merchandising activities ensuring the online stores are optimised for maximum conversion rates and sales, as well as to enhance user experience, product discoverability and cross‑selling opportunities. Own and drive the global digital innovation roadmap, including best‑in‑class feature development and UX enhancements. Define and lead CRO improvements by identifying optimisation opportunities, approving A/B testing plans and using data‑driven insights to enhance on‑site user flows.
- Consumer Marketing: Lead the full funnel consumer connection and touchpoint strategy across new product launches, evergreen categories and key brand moments. Own the global Consumer Marketing Calendar – leading 360 planning across Digital channels and ensuring consistent alignment to business priorities. Oversee global Paid Media and Affiliates strategy with a dedicated team of four people – fostering partnerships in new white spaces, finding ways to deliver the brand message and driving long term payback. Oversee global CRM strategy with a dedicated team of four people across all outbound consumer touchpoints, amplifying reach, engagement and fostering conversations. Drive consumer engagement innovation – finding, testing and making more moments for consumers to build brand love.
- Reporting and performance analysis: Responsible for all reporting to senior stakeholders including providing insightful analysis on key performance indicators, sales trends and consumer behaviour. Identify growth opportunities, highlight areas of concern and recommend actionable strategies to drive performance improvements. Monitor competitor activities and industry benchmarks to identify opportunities for differentiation and growth.
- Budget accountability: Own and manage global Digital budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and adherence to financial targets. Partner with Finance and Procurement Teams to optimise cost base, negotiate contracts and evaluate vendor performance.
We’d love to meet you if you have:
- 10+ years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within the Beauty/Skincare industry, with demonstrated success driving online revenue growth and luxury brand‑building.
- Strategic thinking skills that can see beyond the day‑to‑day operations to help bring all channel activations together to create one holistic, gold standard consumer experience.
- A data‑driven approach with excellent analytical and problem‑solving capabilities – to be able to read, understand and pivot to next steps.
- A creative, commercial mindset with strong storytelling and consumer communication skills.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team in an agile, fast‑paced environment.
- A collaborative, cross‑functional team player with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide stakeholder group.
