The Opportunity

We are looking for an Assistant Communications Manager to join the Dr Barbara Sturm team. In this role, you will need to be an excellent communicator and multitasker extraordinaire—highly organised and comfortable working in a dynamic environment. You will assist the Head of Communications as they continue to build the Dr Barbara Sturm brand reputation, maintain positive relationships and implement PR & Communication strategy.

Working within our fantastic Marketing & Communications team, you will be responsible for coordinating and organising global campaigns, events and press trips; building strong relationships; and compiling, analysing and reporting on industry trends and competitor activity. You will also manage all aspects of PR product inventory and all administrative activities in between.

What you’ll get to do

  • Strategic Support & Team Leadership: Assist the Head of Communications in developing PR strategies aligned with KPIs and company objectives. Line‐manage, coach and develop the Communications Graduate, ensuring clear delegation of tasks, prioritisation and high‐quality output. Oversee day‐to‐day operations of the Communications team, ensuring efficient processes, deadlines are met and information flow is strong across the team. Identify new opportunities for brand visibility across press, influencer, partnerships and digital channels. Provide insights and recommendations based on industry trends, competitor analysis and digital channels.
  • Media Relations & Content Oversight: Maintain and develop strong relationships with media contacts across the beauty and lifestyle industry. Oversee the creation and distribution of seasonal press releases, trend notes and media materials. Ensure PR materials and press assets are consistently maintained and optimised by the team.
  • Coverage Monitoring & Reporting: Lead the monthly Global PR Report, ensuring quality, narrative insight and strategic alignment, while delegating compilation and data consolidation to the Communications Graduate and providing final review and sign‐off. Manage the Global PR Impressions tracker at a leadership level, delegating day‐to‐day entry while maintaining oversight of accuracy, methodology and monthly performance analysis to support global reporting. Oversee agency tracking of media coverage, ensuring insights and summaries are accurate and delivered to leadership on a monthly and quarterly basis. Leverage and optimise listening and monitoring tools (e.g., Lefty, Onclusive and Radarly) to analyse coverage performance and generate actionable insights.
  • Campaigns, NPD Launches & Creative Execution: Manage the planning and delivery of launch campaigns, press send‐outs, creative mailers and media moments, ensuring alignment with brand focuses. Drive the development of innovative concepts to elevate brand launches, gifting programmes and influencer activations. Collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Prive, Brand & Creative) to ensure messaging consistency.
  • Agency & VIP Team Management: Work closely with global PR agencies and VIP relations teams, coordinating deliverables, supporting strategic direction and ensuring clear communications. Review agency materials and output, providing feedback and escalating larger issues to the Head of Communications when needed.
  • Events Management: Lead and support the organisation of brand events, press trips and campaign activations, overseeing creative conception, logistics, guest list curation, scheduling and attendee experience. Liaise with venues, suppliers and partners to ensure seamless operations. Oversee accurate tracking of event media output and compile post‐event reports.

We’d love to meet you if you have

  • Personable and professional service and media relations.
  • Experience of collating and analysing information to determine success and insights.
  • Exceptional communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Creative, proactive, and able to use initiative.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail.
  • Self‐motivated and deadline‐focused.
