Location: Remote (USA)
Growth path from here is Senior Marketing Manager → Head of Creative Strategy. What takes 4-5 years elsewhere happens in 1-2 here.
We've been AI-first since December 2023: AI supports how we research consumers, explore campaign ideas, and develop creative briefs and scripts. You'll use it throughout your work, applying your own judgment to challenge outputs, refine recommendations, and guide the final creative direction.
Role Overview: Puffy, a market-leading, nine-figure D2C brand and Top 5 US mattress brand with over $1Billion in sales, is hiring a Marketing Manager, AI-First, to own the path from consumer insight to campaign, covering consumer research, campaign strategy, AI-assisted creative briefs and scripts, and selected strategic partnerships, reporting directly to the Director of Marketing.
This role exists to turn what online shoppers actually need into campaigns and creative that perform, building the research-to-brief process that lets our creative and paid channel teams produce effective assets without starting from a blank page. This is an individual contributor role open only to candidates currently located in the United States.
The Problems You'll Own:
- Primary: Turn research into relevant campaigns: Identify what matters to online shoppers and translate those insights into clear messaging and creative ideas. Develop briefs and scripts that connect customer needs with product benefits and help teams produce effective assets. Bring feedback from paid channels into the next round of concepts and improvements.
- Secondary: Manage selected exclusive strategic affiliate partnerships for high-impact projects, including coordinating partner activities and reviewing performance with marketing leadership.
The Career Accelerator: This is not a role where you fill in someone else's brief or report on campaigns after they've run. The scope is scarce: very few Marketing Managers get simultaneous ownership over consumer research, the briefs and scripts behind an AI video generation team, and strategic partnerships for growth, including relevant affiliate relationships, and a direct line to the Director of Marketing with no layers in between.
Your first 12 months: build a research base on customers, competitors, buying patterns, and market trends. Turn it into campaign ideas, messaging angles, and creative strategies grounded in purchase motivations. Write the briefs, concepts, and ad scripts that give our AI video generation, design, and content teams clear direction. Bring finished assets to market with the paid channel teams, and feed performance results into the next round of concepts. Coordinate selected strategic partnerships, including relevant affiliate relationships, and review their performance with marketing leadership. Shape the future of creative strategy at Puffy, where consumer insight sets the direction for performance creative.
What Is In It For You: This isn't just another marketing role. This is your chance to become a true industry architect.
- Direct the Creative Before It's Made: You find the insight, write the brief, see it through to performance, and help grow selected strategic partnerships. Your research sets the campaign ideas, messaging angles, and creative strategies. Your briefs and ad scripts go directly to our AI video generation, design, and content teams and shape what they produce. You work with the paid channel teams to bring finished assets to market, then use performance feedback to decide what comes next. You report directly to the Director of Marketing and work together on marketing priorities, campaign ideas, and strategic partnerships. You manage selected exclusive strategic affiliate partnerships. You coordinate partner activities and work with marketing leadership to review opportunities, progress, and performance.
- Join a High-Performance Organization and Partner with the 1%: Work directly with Forbes Council Member CEO. Your vision is the company's vision. Gain firsthand exposure to strategic decisions and high-velocity execution that drives a global brand.
- Embrace Radical Flexibility: Work from anywhere in the world with meaningful time zone overlap. Structure your environment around your best thinking, whether that's a home office, a co-working space, or our Dubai headquarters (with full relocation, visa support, and 0% income tax if you choose). Your output is your credential, not your location.
- Become the Marketer Who Knows Why Customers Buy: Here, you're the person who decides which customer need a campaign speaks to and why. When a concept moves into production, your research and brief are the reason the creative team builds it that way. You'll build the instinct to find what actually drives an online purchase — and the scriptwriting craft to turn it into direction a creative team can execute.
What You'll Need:
- 5+ years of marketing experience, including at least 2 years with D2C e-commerce brands.
- Ability to develop performance marketing campaign ideas and creative strategies informed by consumer insights.
- Understanding of how digital advertising platforms, including Meta, Google Search, and Demand Gen, work.
- Ability to research consumer preferences, buying patterns, and market trends, and translate findings into relevant messaging.
- Understanding of ad copywriting, scriptwriting, and creative concept development, with the ability to communicate clear direction to creative teams.
- Practical ability to use AI tools for research, ideation, creative briefs, and script development.
- Ability to work independently, own assigned projects, and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
Good-to-Have:
- Experience with an online mattress brand.
- Experience supporting strategic growth partnerships, including affiliate or publisher relationships.
