Growth in this role: Build a company-wide record of profitable growth, better customer outcomes and stronger leaders in the President role. The immediate opportunity is substantive executive ownership with direct CEO sponsorship, department heads and specialist support. Future appointments depend on business need and a separately agreed mandate.

We've been AI-first since December 2023: You'll personally use AI to produce and challenge decision briefs, compare business options and prepare actionable handoffs. You remain accountable for source accuracy, wider organizational consequences, sound decisions and follow-through.

Role Overview: Puffy, a market-leading, nine-figure D2C brand and Top 5 US mattress brand with over $1Billion in sales, is hiring a President of Puffy to own day-to-day business performance across contribution, customer outcomes, execution and leadership quality, leading key department heads within agreed strategy and delegated authority, reporting directly to the CEO.

This role exists to turn trusted business judgement into stronger commercial and customer results through accountable leaders, enabling the CEO to focus on strategic direction, especially marketing; it is not primarily an automation-engineering role.

The Problems You'll Own:

  • Autonomy without fragmented decisions: Across a growing consumer business, a strong departmental result can create costs or constraints elsewhere. Speed depends on recommendations that resolve those consequences rather than simply moving the question upward. The challenge is making day-to-day decisions the business can act on confidently.

The Career Accelerator:

In this role, you'd personally use AI to produce and challenge decision briefs, resolve cross-functional trade-offs and lead department heads through implementation, taking major strategic shifts to the CEO with a supported recommendation.

Your first month:

  • Confirm reporting relationships and delegated authority, establish initial performance baselines, and use AI to lead a first bounded cross-functional decision through your department heads, from evaluating options to implementation and acceptance. Review observed results and corrections with the CEO and propose numerical targets from the baseline.

Lead department heads:

  • Set expectations, coach and address underperformance across Marketing, Retail, Digital Experience, Operations, Customer Support and Finance; own combined commercial and customer results.

Decide across functions:

  • Use AI to challenge options, assess economics and wider organizational consequences, and decide within agreed strategy and authority.

Deliver through leaders:

  • Set clear accountabilities, commitments and acceptance checks; own implementation and correction.

Strengthen autonomy:

  • Improve leaders' recommendations and discretion; own business acceptance of decision frameworks and thresholds, partnering with AI Ops on technical delivery.

Use specialists and elevate precisely:

  • Use expert advice; bring corporate strategy, major departmental strategic shifts and commitments outside delegation to the CEO with supported recommendations.

What Is In It For You:

This isn't just another executive leadership role. This is your chance to shape how a $1Billion+ business makes decisions and delivers results.

  • Executive Ownership with Direct CEO Sponsorship: You lead the department heads, resolve operating trade-offs and own the combined results. You set operating priorities and hold the heads of Marketing, Retail, Digital Experience, Operations, Customer Support and Finance accountable, while they retain day-to-day execution discretion within agreed departmental plans, budgets and controls. Corporate strategy, major changes to departmental strategy and commitments outside your written delegation remain with the CEO. Existing financial, legal, employment and release approvals continue to apply; specialist approval is not replaced by AI advice. You own the business decision, departmental leadership and follow-through. AI Ops owns technical buildout in its remit; you specify business requirements and accept the resulting decision support. AI advice does not create authority.
  • Join a High-Performance Organization and Partner with the 1%: Puffy: Top 5 Mattress Brand in US with Over $1Billion USD in Sales. Join an AI-first organization led by a Forbes Council Member CEO. Gain firsthand exposure to strategic decisions and high-velocity execution that drives a global brand.
  • Build a Record of Company-Wide Results: The opportunity is to show that your judgement works across the whole business, not just within one department. When priorities compete, you'd own the trade-off and stay accountable for implementation, customer consequences and commercial results. You'd build a measurable record of stronger leaders and dependable execution alongside better contribution and customer outcomes. Puffy has been AI-First since December 2023, so you'd develop that record with AI-supported analysis and challenge while retaining responsibility for the decisions.

What You'll Need:

  • Business leadership: 12+ years of relevant business leadership experience, including 5+ years leading managers across multiple functions, with personal accountability for measurable commercial results.
  • Commercial ownership through leaders: Led managers across functions and personally owned measurable commercial outcomes, with a clear baseline, timeframe and evidence of your contribution through those leaders.
  • Cross-functional judgment: Demonstrated judgement about commercial trade-offs, dependencies and second- and third-order organisational consequences.
  • Personal AI use and validation: Personally used LLMs to produce and challenge substantive business work, with independent checks and accountability for the final decision.
  • End-to-end decision ownership: Owned a decision through implementation, acceptance and correction, including resolving cross-functional handoff failures.
  • Delegated authority and escalation: Worked within delegated authority, using specialist advice appropriately and escalating major strategic changes with a supported recommendation.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Good-to-Have:

  • Experience in a consumer business with both direct and partner sales channels.
  • Experience leading a consumer business through substantial growth or organisational change.

The Puffy DNA:

  • We’re restless, perpetually hungry, and fast-paced, driven by an unwavering belief that we can outperform any competitor, regardless of their size.
  • Be the Owner: We don’t hire employees; we welcome owners. You're accountable for results, not activity.
  • Execute with Urgency: We thrive in high-stakes environments by making thoughtful decisions quickly and acting decisively.
  • Demand Excellence: We solve the hard problems that others can't, pushing the boundaries of our craft.
  • Be AI-First: Daily multi-turn AI conversations challenge your assumptions.
  • Go All-In: When the mission demands it, we rally as one team to cross the finish line.

Total Annual Package: Up to USD $286,000 + comprehensive benefits (Base salary + performance bonus of 10% of base)
