Pudsey Sixth Form College are recruiting for an A Level Lecturer in English to join our growing team. Pudsey Sixth Form College opened its doors in September 2025 and we are now recruiting to expand our team for September 2026. Following a successful first year, we are developing our curriculum to support our growing student numbers. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about teaching and can inspire and motivate students to reach their full potential. We are a motivated team committed to providing our students with a great experience, high quality teaching, and excellent wrap around support. Please note that this is a part-time position, working 18.5 hours per week.
What You Will Do:
- Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners.
- Be responsible for recording student progress, motivate and inspire students to achieve targets and develop their skills to enable progression.
- Reflect on what works best in teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Adapt curriculum delivery methods to maximise their effectiveness, including through the use of technology.
- Plan, prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources including the development of online learning resources for identified modules.
- Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules.
- Develop and employ effective assessment activities for identified modules.
- Assess student work, provide constructive and timely feedback to motivate and inspire the learner to improve and record learners’ progress for identified modules.
About You:
- You will be focused, passionate and ready to deliver an inspiring curriculum preparing students for their future, ensuring they leave confident, resilient and ready to succeed in their next steps.
- You will be either a qualified or a newly qualified teacher.
- You will have experience and demonstrable success teaching students up to Level 3.
- You will hold a level 5 teaching qualification.
- You have success in positively managing student progression, advice and guidance in a school or Further Education setting.
- You have a demonstrable commitment to continuous professional development.
- You have experience developing creative learning materials for groups of learners.
