The role of Strategic Communications Officer sits within CU Corporate Services, a wholly owned sister company of Coventry University Group. The Role This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering the Group\’s strategic communications plan, utilizing various channels to reach and engage our priority audiences and stakeholders. You will work alongside the Head of Strategic and Corporate Communications and colleagues in other communications roles and the Group Policy Unit to proactively deliver high-quality, tailored communications. This involves planning campaigns aligned with the 2030 Group Strategy, using channels such as internal communications, email marketing, events, stakeholder engagement, press, social media, web, and more. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders across the Group to plan, deliver, and evaluate the impact of your activities. You will produce engaging, audience-focused content and build relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers to ensure our messages reach the right people. Our Successful Candidate To succeed in this role, you should have demonstrable experience with using events, blogs, newsletters, and similar channels to deliver key messages. Knowledge of stakeholder mapping and identifying key groups relevant to the HE sector, both nationally and internationally, would be beneficial. An informed, up-to-date knowledge of the UK media and political landscape is essential. Additional knowledge of international political and media issues, especially in the Group\’s key markets, would be advantageous. You should have a degree or equivalent experience in a discipline with a strong communications focus. Ideally, you will have a relevant professional qualification (e.g., CIPR, CIM, or journalism) with a proven track record in planning, delivering, and evaluating high-profile communications campaigns.
