The Scottish BPOC Writers Network is looking for a creative, bookish digital content creator to join their team! They are a collective of freelance BPOC writers and creatives coming together to uplift, support and celebrate Black writers and writers of colour in, from and with connections to Scotland. At the centre of everything they do is collective care and support, access, non-hierarchical working and an anti‐racist approach.
It's time for the Scottish BPOC Writers Network to transform their digital storytelling. They need an innovative creator who can create and transform video content that builds community, spotlights BPOC writers across Scotland, makes people laugh and keeps them watching. They are currently delivering year two of their three-year multi-year programme funded by Creative Scotland, which runs until March 2028.
Role Description
They are looking for a Digital & Social Media Assistant to join the team to support their mission of advocating for and facilitating opportunities for BPOC writers. The literary landscape has changed and so have the Scottish BPOC Writers Network. They are looking for a bold creative to lead their new era of storytelling, who is able to create engaging video content that showcases their organisation as well as their members' stories and the evolving and changing face of the literary and publishing sector.
This will be an exciting role for a person with marketing experience who has interest in the creative sector, enjoys working with a diverse range of people and organisations, shares values of anti-racism and social justice and is keen to explore new ethical social media platforms and content creation that takes a community‐led, social‐justice‐centric approach.
Contract duration: 21 months from July 2026 to March 2028, start date is 6 July.
Pay rate: £560 per month (£28 per hour x 20 hours per month, paid monthly on receipt of invoice).
