Are you a press officer looking for your next opportunity to work in book PR? Carver PR are looking for a publicist to join their new and thriving books division. The role will be responsible for delivering high impact PR campaigns for a variety of clients, across non-fiction and fiction.

Key responsibilities:

  • Independently plan and implement campaigns that deliver on all available PR opportunities, covering traditional and non-traditional media, and including print, broadcast, online and events.
  • Work closely with clients, maintaining communication throughout campaigns and provide a high level of author and agent care at all times.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with journalists and producers.
  • Respond to journalist requests efficiently.
  • Showcase keen knowledge of the book industry.
  • Communicate and work collaboratively with colleagues in the Carver PR office.
  • Occasionally attend and manage events.
  • Accompany clients to media appearances.
  • Maintain high standards of presentation and attention to details.
  • From time to time attend new business meetings with Head of Books.

Person specification:

  • An in-depth knowledge of the UK books landscape.
  • Great contacts with journalists and producers.
  • Copywriting and pitching skills.
  • 3+ years’ publicity experience, preferably with demonstrable non-fiction experience.
  • Resilient and confident in managing multiple projects, prioritising time effectively.
