Overview
The UK Centralised FM Department is seeking an experienced Building Manager to oversee the day-to-day operational activities. The role ensures full compliance with health and safety, environmental standards, company procedures, relevant legislation, and client/tenant requirements. The Building Manager will act as the primary point of contact for occupiers and will maintain strong communication across all building-related matters.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain sound working relationships with all building occupiers and have a strong and open communication chain on any building-related issues.
- Work collaboratively with the wider Facilities Management team to ensure all legal obligations and H&S policies are effectively managed.
- Attend monthly Facilities Management meeting with all the brands in the building.
- Manage ISO27001 and ISO45001 documentation for presentation and annual audit purposes.
- Ensure that the property is maintained and that client/brand expectations are maintained, predominantly but not exclusively, in reception areas, meeting rooms and client areas.
- Supervision and coordination of any Facilities Management-related fit-out projects and churn projects within the building.
- Co-ordinate with the centralised Facilities Management helpdesk to ensure efficient and effective response to Facilities Management services calls into the building team, and ensure any outstanding tasks are correctly prioritised.
- Management of on-site contractors and suppliers, ensuring that SLAs are met (cleaners, security, specialist maintenance providers, etc.).
- To ensure any failure to comply with any SLA is addressed and corrective action measures are taken.
- Management of direct reporting staff, in line with company policies in relation to leave, sickness and performance management.
- Provide regular, concise building updates to the Head of Facilities Management, highlighting occupier issues and operational matters.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with all building occupiers and senior brand management.
- Undertake other incidental duties as required from time to time in line with the needs of the business.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a mid/large multi-tenanted commercial building.
- Strong technical qualifications within the HVAC industry (essential).
- BMS operational knowledge (required).
- IOSH certification (required); NEBOSH (preferred).
- Proven experience in contract management.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of SAP (preferred).
- Basic AutoCAD skills (beneficial but not essential).

This is a full-time, in-office position, Monday to Friday, with working hours from 8 am to 5 pm. Our office is at 63 Turnmill Street, London, EC1M 5RR, and the role will also involve travel to our other offices in London.
