Overview
We are hiring an SEO Operations Director to shape the delivery and governance of an ambitious, multi-market SEO programme for a major client.
You’ll bring together client leaders, specialist teams and local agencies, creating the clarity and collaboration needed to turn strategy into consistent results.
This is an influential role for someone who combines strong SEO knowledge with thoughtful client leadership and excellent operational judgement.
You’ll have the opportunity to improve how teams work together across more than 70 markets while supporting people to do their best work.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day client relationships, creating clear communication and trusted partnerships across senior stakeholders and specialist teams.
- Plan and oversee SEO workstreams across content, technical SEO, outreach, earned media, deployment and local-market activity.
- Own the Intent Based Planning Dashboard, connecting client and product teams while coordinating demonstrations, feedback and ongoing maintenance.
- Guide the deployment of a multi-market SEO strategy, aligning central and local teams around shared priorities, objectives and ways of working.
- Lead governance meetings, business reviews and programme updates, ensuring decisions, actions and progress are clearly communicated.
- Maintain high standards across strategic work, reporting and documentation, identifying practical opportunities to improve delivery and client experience.
- Support and organise the Data and Local SEO team’s workload, helping colleagues collaborate effectively while contributing to billing and commercial operations.
Qualifications
- Experience delivering SEO programmes for enterprise-level clients, ideally within an agency or similarly complex environment.
- Strong knowledge of multi-market SEO, including how to coordinate strategy and delivery across central, regional and local teams.
- Clear and adaptable communication skills, with the ability to make complex information accessible to different audiences.
- Sound planning and project leadership skills, including prioritising work, managing resources and keeping multiple workstreams moving.
- Confidence using data to identify organic-search opportunities, shape relevant KPIs and support performance or return-on-investment projections.
- A careful approach to quality, with the ability to identify and correct issues in reports, data and strategic outputs.
- Practical experience with relevant analytics and SEO platforms, such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Semrush, Looker Studio or comparable tools.
The role includes travel to internal and external meetings and conferences, primarily within the UK and Switzerland.
