Company description: Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH) is a world-famous creative agency that makes jaw-dropping, thumb-stopping, eye-opening work for brands across the globe. Founded in London in 1982, we now have offices in New York, Los Angeles, Stockholm, Mumbai, Singapore, and Shanghai. Our first ad for Levi’s showed a black sheep travelling in the opposite direction to a flock of white ones. That’s where we got our logo and our guiding philosophy: when the world zigs, zag. Why? Because it’s easy to zig, to go with the grain. It feels safe. It feels like the sensible thing to do. But the greater risk is failing to stand out. We believe in the power of difference to make a difference. Our goal is a simple one: make the best work in the world. That’s where you come in. We need rebels, dreamers, thinkers, mathematicians, makers, artists, visionaries, doers, observers, the different and the unreasonable. We need Black Sheep. People who want to make the hearts flutter and minds do flips, who can change businesses and culture. People who want to make a difference, come here for something different.

Overview: The Opportunity: We’re looking for a meticulous and thoughtful Senior Medical Writer to join the growing healthcare team at BBH. You’ll bring not just precision and scientific rigour, but also the curiosity and craft to elevate complex information into compelling, human stories. With your deep respect for language, accuracy, and strategic nuance, you’ll nurture and guide the creation of work that is scientifically and creatively powerful across your accounts/multiple brands.

The Role: We’re looking for a medical writer with promotional healthcare agency experience. This role could suit either a Senior Medical Writer with 1-2 years of experience seeking a fresh challenge. You’ll work across a wide variety of promotional healthcare and pharmaceutical projects, from short, tactical assets to longer, more complex deliverables. These include digital content (e.g. websites, eDetails), HCP and patient-facing materials, messaging frameworks, and internal communications. You’ll have the opportunity to shape communication strategies, support business growth, and act as a trusted scientific partner to both colleagues and clients.

Responsibilities: What We’re Looking For:

  • Presenting and communicating: Leading client discussions and review team interactions, ensuring work is scientifically sound, approvable, and strategically aligned.
  • Collaborating: Partnering with medical, creative, and account teams to deliver content that is accurate, insightful, and creatively engaging.
  • Maintaining a high standard: Setting the benchmark for quality, consistency, and style, providing oversight to keep messaging flawless and on-brand.
  • Researching and understanding: Bringing deep scientific expertise, distilling complex data into clear communication, and ensuring rigorous referencing.
  • Pitching: Contributing to new business by shaping therapy area insights, working closely with strategy, and presenting with authority.
  • Supporting the growth of others: Mentoring junior writers, guiding their development, and fostering a culture of excellence.

Qualifications and skills: Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with relevant writing experience; postgraduate degree preferred. Mentored or has a desire to mentor more junior writers. Prior evidence of being lead writer on accounts (e.g. main person responsible for content on sales aid, website, objection handler). Fully trained in Veeva PromoMats. Extensive knowledge of English grammar and ability to communicate clearly. Creatively minded with a good understanding of data visualisation and design.

Bonus Skills: Knowledge/experience of the US market.
