This role is for a Senior Associate to join the Global Revenue Operations Team (GRO) in London, focussed on supporting revenue recognition for the Financial Services & Health industries of Publicis Sapient EMEA. You will help ensure accurate revenue recognition through review of client contracts, analysis of monthly revenue, as well as creation and maintenance of reconciliations relating to revenue related accounts. You will be collaborating and working closely not only with people within the GRO team but also with the Client Finance and Business Operation Teams in the UK and overseas. You will also serve as an escalation point for our other finance teams on any revenue issues related to our EMEA clients.
You will work to understand issues and research problems, find solutions, perform analyses to understand our results, and help uphold our policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Supporting our financial reporting by ensuring accuracy and completeness of revenue through our month-end close process which includes analysis of forecasted revenue versus actual results and working with the Client Finance team to research and resolve issues.
- Driving improvements in our financial success and cash flow by working with our Client Finance and Business Operations Teams on substantiating and clearing Balance Sheet accounts through invoicing and clean up to help improve our overall trade working capital.
- Ensuring our compliance with Group Policies and IFRS 15 by reviewing and analysing client contracts to determine appropriate accounting treatment, ensuring accurate job set-up in Salesforce and SAP.
- Liaising with the Controllership Team to support them in analysing monthly reporting, which includes fluctuation analyses, and obtaining details on aged unbilled revenue.
- Creating global relationships with various people within the business outside the GRO team, including supporting / advising on revenue recognition issues and job set up queries from our main stakeholders (the Client Finance team), and assisting them with any queries on changes to client or job revenue & margins.
- Preparation of Revenue related balance sheet controls, reconciliations and journals.
- Ensuring compliance of Group controls, including supporting all internal & external audits for revenue related matters.
Qualifications
- A desire to understand how things work, and willing to take initiative on new and challenging tasks in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Experience in creating and interpreting financial data and identify issues.
- Experience in demonstrating good problem-solving skills & identifying potential solutions is a plus.
- Ability to research and resolve revenue related accounting issues including application of IFRS 15.
- Excellent communication skills, including an ability to collaborate and work well in a team and communicate with multiple stakeholders at various levels.
- Able to work on own initiative and to work to tight deadlines, helped by strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Microsoft Excel experience required, including knowledge of pivot tables and advanced formulae.
- Experience of SAP advantageous.
- Experience in a professional services environment would also be advantageous.
Education
- Preference for part qualified accountant or an interest in gaining qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
- 3+ years experience in an accounting role, with preference for history in revenue related roles.
