The Counter Fraud and Enforcement Unit is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our shared service. This role focuses on investigating potential breaches and offences by landlords under the Renters Rights Act 2025, using enhanced powers to deal with illegal eviction, harassment, rental bidding, discrimination, tenancy agreements and property possession, among others.
You will be employed by Cotswold District Council and will work on behalf of Cheltenham, Tewkesbury Borough and Stroud District Councils. You will work closely with private sector housing team officers of each council and support the CFEU in meeting statutory duties under the Renters Rights Act 2025. The team works in an agile manner, offering a mix of home and office working across several locations. You will be based nearest to your location and be expected to travel.
About the Role
We are looking for an individual with experience in similar roles and in liaison and communication with members of the public and colleagues. The role requires handling confidential and sensitive information with an understanding of data protection issues and the ability to travel. Applicants must hold BPSS and Standard DBS clearance, and appropriate qualifications will be considered an advantage.
