We are seeking an enthusiastic and confident PA Announcer to become the voice of the club on matchdays.

An exciting volunteer opportunity has arisen within the Media & Communications Team at Hornchurch Football Club.

The successful candidate will play a key role in creating an engaging atmosphere for supporters while ensuring important information is communicated clearly, accurately and professionally throughout each fixture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Announce team line-ups, substitutions, goalscorers and other significant match events.
  • Provide half-time and full-time updates, including scores from other fixtures where required.
  • Deliver sponsor messages, club announcements and supporter information as directed.
  • Make clear and timely safety or emergency announcements when necessary.
  • Work closely with the matchday operations team to ensure all announcements are accurate and well-timed.

Essential Requirements

  • The ability to remain composed and professional when speaking live to a crowd.
  • Reliable, punctual and committed to attending home fixtures on Saturday afternoons and Tuesday evenings
  • Strong, confident communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • A good knowledge of football and the matchday environment.
  • Previous experience in public speaking, commentary, broadcasting or using PA systems.
  • The ability to engage supporters with enthusiasm, energy and a positive presence.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a professional football club environment, contribute to the matchday experience for supporters, and become an integral part of the Hornchurch Media & Communications Team.
