About The Role
Are you an experienced insurance professional looking for a role where your expertise can make a genuine difference?

Were looking for an Insurance Officer to join our shared insurance service, supporting Gloucestershire County Council, Cheltenham Borough Council, Cotswold District Council, Forest of Dean District Council, West Oxfordshire District Council and Ubico.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in protecting organizations from insurable risks while delivering a high-quality, responsive and professional insurance service, covering a very broad spectrum of services the insurance role will include fleet, property and public liability across areas such as waste collection, the Fire service and social care.

The team is looking for someone who can help improve the processes within services to avoid accidents occurring, who can guide the inspection and recording procedures in place in assist in the defense of claims and can drive down costs.

Ideally you will have experience and a strong understanding of insurance principles, liability claims and risk management within the public sector.

Youll work across insurance, claims, risk, financial administration and customer advice, building strong relationships with colleagues, clients and external insurers.

Youll have the opportunity to influence how insurance services are delivered, support projects and change programmes, and help organizations minimize risk and the financial impact of claims.

Some of your job responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of effective, customer-focused insurance services across partner organizations and clients.
  • Manage your own caseload, ensuring claims are investigated, validated, progressed and closed promptly and efficiently.
  • Support the Insurance Business Partner and clients to identify opportunities to reduce risk and prevent claims.
  • Assist with the financial administration of insurance funds, reserves, provisions, budgets, premiums and client contributions.
  • Calculate premiums and financial contributions using relevant claims history, insurance premiums and financial strategies.
