About The Role

We're looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our Wiltshire-based finance team. Reporting to the Wiltshire Finance Manager, you'll work closely with operational contract leadership across a range of key service areas, providing expert financial support, insight and challenge to help drive performance and informed decision-making. As a trusted business partner, you'll play a key role in budget planning, forecasting and financial reporting, ensuring budget holders have the information and support they need to manage their finances effectively. You'll help develop financial awareness across operational teams while identifying opportunities to improve processes, strengthen financial controls and enhance reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with non-financial stakeholders, influencing decision-making and adding value beyond traditional finance reporting. You'll join a collaborative and supportive finance team committed to delivering a proactive, value-adding finance service. Working closely with operational leadership and senior managers, the team provides financial insight that supports efficient service delivery, continuous improvement and informed business decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with operational leadership teams to provide financial advice, support and challenge.
  • Leading the budget monitoring process, ensuring accurate forecasting and financial performance reporting.
  • Developing budget models and financial reports that provide meaningful insight to support decision-making.
  • Improving financial awareness across operational teams.
  • Supporting and delivering finance process improvement projects, including financial modelling and improvements to key finance processes.
  • Maintaining strong financial controls through reconciliations, general ledger management and transaction analysis.
  • Working closely with senior leadership to improve financial performance across contracts.

You'll have:

  • A relevant professional finance qualification (or be working towards one).
  • Experience within a finance, management accounting or finance business partnering role.
  • Strong Excel skills and the ability to analyse, interpret and present financial information clearly.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Special Conditions:

  • Expected to work reasonable additional hours in line with the needs of the service.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for business travel is required.
  • BPSS/DBS may be required, depending on the role.

If you're looking for a role where you can influence decisions, improve financial processes and work closely with operational leaders to make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.

What we can do for you:

  • Learning & Progression: We support your growth, whether you're starting out or moving up.
  • Flexible Working Options: Include hybrid roles.
  • Community Impact: Help make your neighbourhood cleaner and greener.
  • Generous Leave: 26 days annual leave + bank holidays (rising to 30 days after 5 years).
  • Holiday Flexibility: Buy or sell up to 1 week of leave.
  • Pension Support: 5% employer contribution to your retirement.
  • Exclusive Discounts: Save on shopping, dining, travel and more with Unity Rewards.
  • 24/7 Support: Free, confidential helpline for you and your family.
  • Health & Wellbeing: Free eye tests (role-dependent), flu jabs, and wellbeing resources.
  • Workplace Comforts: Free PPE, tea & coffee, and on-site parking.
