We are looking for a Performance Improvement Lead to join our Business Information, Performance & Improvement team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys improving services, analysing performance, and working with managers to turn insight into action.

As a Performance Improvement Lead, you will work with services across the organisation to support effective performance management and continuous improvement. You will produce accurate and meaningful performance information, review operational delivery, and help managers take timely, evidence-based decisions. You will play a key role in setting and monitoring KPIs, identifying under-performance, and supporting the implementation of change to improve efficiency and effectiveness. By translating data into clear, actionable insight, you will help services understand performance and drive sustainable improvement.

This is a hybrid role, with a mix of working from home and from our offices in Cirencester, so you will need to live within a reasonable commuting distance. The post is offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract for maternity cover, or until the postholder returns, whichever is sooner. The working pattern is Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, review, and evaluate performance across a range of services
  • Develop and maintain clear KPIs and targets, identifying trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Identify areas of under-performance and support managers with corrective action plans
  • Produce clear, concise performance reports that turn data into insight
  • Support service improvement activity and help embed new ways of working
  • Work collaboratively to ensure performance data is accurate, consistent, and trusted
  • Champion continuous improvement and promote a strong performance-driven culture

You will thrive in this role if you are confident working with performance information and engaging with managers to improve outcomes. You should also be comfortable balancing multiple priorities and working in a fast-paced environment.

Interview Date: 23rd and 24th February

You will need a degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience (typically 5+ years), experience of being involved in continuously improving services and developing products to meet customer need, and the ability to remain calm and confident when dealing with challenging customers and environments.

Special Conditions:
  • A full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle
  • Occasional additional hours may be needed to meet service demands
What we can do for you:
  • Agile working allowing a mix of home and office working
  • Flexible working arrangements (depending on the role)
  • 27 days paid annual leave (pro rata if you are working part time) plus bank holidays and an extra two volunteering days off a year for you to support a charity of your choice
  • Health cash plan giving you cash back on health, dental and eye care
  • Pension scheme with a good employer contribution of up to 7% of your earnings
  • Employee Assistance Programme 24/7, providing positive, preventative and supportive advice and counselling to deal with everyday events and issues
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Salary sacrifice car lease scheme with significant tax and NI savings to be made on electric cars
  • Generous sickness cover above statutory entitlements
  • Additional income protection, covering 50% of your salary for potentially a further five years if you are unable to work due to sickness or injury
  • Life assurance, currently four times your annual salary
