Goodman Masson are currently working with a social housing organisation in London to recruit for an interim Asset Manager. Pay – £400 – £550 per day INSIDE IR35.
About the Role
You will provide strategic leadership across all aspects of housing asset management, leading a high-performing team responsible for delivering key priorities including:
- Decent Homes
- Building Safety
- HHSRS compliance
- Energy efficiency and retrofit
- Zero Carbon planning
- Asset data and stock intelligence
- Long-term investment planning
You will play a key role in developing and delivering our Housing Asset Management Strategy, ensuring our housing stock continues to meet legislative, regulatory, and customer expectations while supporting the organisation's long-term business objectives. This is a highly influential role requiring strong technical expertise, commercial awareness, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead organisational change.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Lead the management and development of the organisations housing asset database and stock intelligence systems
- Develop long-term investment plans, lifecycle programmes, and asset strategies
- Drive delivery of EPC C targets and wider sustainability and retrofit programmes
- Develop a practical and affordable Zero Carbon roadmap for our housing stock
- Oversee stock condition surveys and ensure accurate data informs investment decisions
- Lead on HRA land and asset-related matters, including option appraisals and disposals
- Ensure full compliance across building safety and housing compliance regimes
- Work closely with finance teams to support HRA business planning and investment modelling
- Build strong relationships with residents, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Represent the service at resident panels, strategic meetings, and partnership forums
About You
We are looking for a strategic and experienced asset management professional with substantial experience in social housing and a strong understanding of the challenges facing the sector. You will bring:
- Significant experience in housing asset management within a social housing environment
- Strong knowledge of Decent Homes, HHSRS, Building Safety, and housing compliance
- Experience of developing investment programmes and lifecycle planning models
- Knowledge of retrofit, EPC improvement programmes, and zero carbon strategies
- Experience managing asset databases and using data to inform strategic decisions
- Strong financial and commercial awareness, including business planning and budgeting
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills
- The ability to influence, innovate, and drive service improvement
A degree qualification or equivalent relevant experience in a construction or property-related discipline is desirable.
