A housing organisation in London is looking to appoint a Head of FP&A and Reporting (two direct reports).

This is a newly shaped opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to take ownership of financial planning, forecasting, modelling and performance insight, while helping to build a more sophisticated FP&A capability.

Working closely with the Finance Director and senior leadership team, you will have significant visibility across the business and play an important role in improving financial insight, supporting investment decisions and strengthening financial planning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead quarterly budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning processes.
  • Own and develop short-term cash flow forecasting, including liquidity and funding requirements.
  • Build and maintain integrated financial models covering P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
  • Develop scenario analysis and sensitivity models to support strategic and investment decisions.
  • Improve forecasting of rental income and other property-related revenues.
  • Support treasury activity, including covenant forecasting, compliance analysis and monitoring of headroom.
  • Develop financial and operational KPIs, dashboards and management information.
  • Build stronger finance business partnering across the organisation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes through technology, automation and better data.

There is considerable scope to introduce more sophisticated planning, reporting and business partnering.

You will be encouraged to assess existing processes and determine what good looks like, rather than being constrained by what is currently being carried out.

Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification, ideally with experience in property, residential, real estate, development, infrastructure or another capital-intensive environment.
  • A strong background in FP&A, financial planning or commercial finance.
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills, with the ability to build and improve practical tools.
  • A track record of delivering budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning and scenario analysis.
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills, with the ability to understand operational drivers and translate them into insight.
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and presenting financial information clearly.
  • A proactive approach to improving processes, reporting and ways of working.
  • Experience managing or mentoring finance professionals, or the ambition to develop this responsibility.

You will be highly capable in Excel and motivated by building rather than maintaining, with the curiosity to ask how things could be done better, the confidence to challenge assumptions and the ability to turn ideas into practical improvements.

This is an opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, gain broad exposure across the business and take genuine ownership of the FP&A team and agenda, with significant scope to shape and develop the function.
