An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Contract and Compliance Officer to support the delivery of high‑quality temporary accommodation services for a London based local authority. This role plays a vital part in ensuring that accommodation provided through third‑party contracts meets required standards, regulatory obligations, and the needs of residents. This is a permanent position offering strong opportunities for development within a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.

Key duties:

  • Manage a portfolio of accommodation providers, ensuring compliance with contractual standards and service expectations.
  • Carry out pre‑ and post‑inspections of properties, producing detailed reports and ensuring required works are completed.
  • Procure and assess temporary accommodation offers in line with agreed procedures and frameworks.
  • Validate health and safety documentation including gas, electrical, EPC, fire risk, and legionella certifications.
  • Investigate property‑related complaints, including damp and mould, and ensure timely resolution with providers.
  • Maintain accurate records using housing management systems and produce performance and compliance reports.
  • Support responses to enquiries and complaints from stakeholders, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Monitor contractor and provider performance, driving service improvements where required.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Contribute to data analysis, reporting, and service improvement initiatives.

Client Requirements:

  • Proven experience in contract management, compliance, or housing/property services.
  • Strong understanding of housing legislation, health and safety requirements, and property standards.
  • Experience conducting property inspections and producing detailed reports.
  • Ability to manage relationships with contractors, agents, and stakeholders effectively.
  • Skilled in analysing data and producing reports for a range of audiences.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and housing or compliance management systems.
