Executive Support Officer
Basis: Permanent, Full time 36 hours per week
Salary: £31,549 to £33,126 per annum. London-based employees receive an additional £3,217 London weighting. A £312 tax-free working from home allowance is also payable annually.
Location: London (Hybrid - min. 2 days in office)

About the role
To provide executive support to Directors and the wider senior leadership team, understanding and managing their needs to enable them to effectively use their time. To provide diary management and briefings, support meetings and coordinate events effectively. To contribute to outputs that support the Commission's strategic objectives.
Day to day, you will:
- Plan, schedule & monitor work to meet objectives, deadlines and other requirements (meetings, events, expenses etc).
- Work independently within established procedures and practices, referring more complex or unusual issues to a manager or more experienced colleague (corporate meetings, travel bookings, away days etc).
- Prepare written materials such as agendas, letters and follow up on action points that support decision-making and operational delivery.
- Monitor processes, identify gaps or inefficiencies, and recommend improvements supported by evidence (discussed at team meetings and team away days, or at 121s).
About the team
The post-holder will work closely with the Directors they support; their line manager, Business Services Team (BST), other Directors, Chief Executive, Chair, colleagues across all teams and external stakeholders to provide expert executive support and administrative skills.
You will bring:
- Educated to degree standard or demonstrable equivalent work experience.
- Experience of actively managing busy schedules and providing administrative support including minute taking.
- Experience of working with a range of stakeholders and establishing collaborative relationships to help the organisation deliver its strategic objectives.
- Experience of planning and prioritising own workload effectively to ensure that those you are supporting are able to meet their priorities and objectives.
- Experience of meeting deadlines often under tight timescales and demonstrating attention to detail.
- Experience of dealing with confidential and sensitive information and demonstrating discretion.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver deadlines, working independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to anticipate problems or issues and propose possible options.
