Homes England is launching the National Housing Bank, a new government-backed investment platform to accelerate housing delivery across England. With £16bn in capital, it will unlock private investment, support regeneration and accelerate housing delivery across the UK. The role supports and mentors team members while ensuring effective monitoring of equity investments in collective investment schemes and complex JV equity partnerships. The team maintains strong relationships with investment partners, which enables effective stewardship, risk management, and compliance. It also involves close collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders, driving reporting, assurance, and continuous improvement while delivering against targets.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide supportive leadership to a small national team to deliver housing outcomes, equity investments, and budget targets in line with strategic plans
  • Oversee a diverse portfolio of equity joint ventures, and collective investment schemes, ensuring strong performance and value delivery
  • Monitor and manage financial, operational, and reputational risks, including regular reporting and engagement with risk functions
  • Build and maintain senior relationships with investment partners, developers, and stakeholders, ensuring effective partnership delivery
  • Ensure compliance with transaction agreements, including drawdowns, payments, and ongoing asset stewardship activities
  • Provide portfolio insights, performance reporting, and continuous improvements to policies, governance, and deal structuring

Candidate profile:

  • Strong experience in real estate finance, including equity/JV structures, portfolio management, and complex transactions
  • Proven expertise in risk management, governance, and financial/real estate modelling
  • Experience managing and developing teams, with the ability to coach and lead delivery to targets
  • Commercial acumen with experience overseeing underperforming or distressed investments
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with ability to influence senior internal and external audiences
  • Relevant professional background or qualification (e.g. banking, accounting, surveying, law) or equivalent industry experience
