If you're at your best when details are right, customers are supported, and work matters, our client is looking for an Administrative Officer to help keep cases moving smoothly across the court and tribunal system. You'll work as part of a team in a busy environment where accuracy, professionalism and a "right first time" approach make a real difference.
What you'll be doing:
- Prepare papers, files and documents for court, tribunals, hearings and meetings
- Maintain and update records and complete data input on an in-house computer system
- Handle post opening and dispatch, including general photocopying and filing
- Provide effective support at hearings: ensuring materials are up to date and assisting with listing and rota needs
- Deal with counter, written and telephone enquiries-offering prompt, polite customer service
- Schedule and support meeting rooms, agendas, joining instructions and handouts
- Clerking support for civil and family courts and tribunals, including checking files and ensuring the right information is in place
- Check and verify documents, records and statistics against criteria and procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement, following processes and guidelines (and escape complex issues to a team leader/supervisor)
- Undertake basic calculations and straightforward reporting, including supporting efficient juror calling numbers
What you'll bring:
- Excellent administrative ability with a strong attention to detail
- Confident customer service skills across face-to-face, phone and written contact
- Good computer skills to complete the day-to-day administrative workload
- The ability to follow processes, use discretion within systems, and solve problems in line with guidelines
- Confidence communicating professionally with members of the judiciary, legal professionals and other stakeholders
Additional information:
- Flexibility may be needed to work occasionally at other local offices in the Leeds area.
- Some ad hoc opportunities within the band may be available.
