On behalf of Companies House, we are looking for a Director of Finance and Commercial (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract based Cardiff 2-3 days a week onsite

The Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act (2023) gives Companies House the power to play a more significant role in disrupting economic crime and supporting economic growth.

As a Director of Finance and Commercial, your main responsibilities will be:
* Lead and support the Finance, Commercial, and Economics functions to deliver professional services, ensure legal and regulatory compliance, and support corporate objectives.
* Champion inclusive leadership, fostering high performance and ensuring teams have the skills and capacity to meet departmental goals.
* Serve as a key executive, including roles such as lead for Audit and Risk Assurance Committee, Main Board member, and Chair of internal governance committees.
* Act as corporate guardian for budgets and efficiency targets, ensuring compliance with public finance standards and protecting the Accounting Officer.
* Provide strategic financial guidance to the Chief Executive and Executive Team, enabling robust planning, spending reviews, and business partnering.
* Drive financial governance and value, ensuring strong internal controls, timely reporting, commercial acumen, and evidence-based decision-making
Essential:
* Full professional accountancy qualification (CCAB, CIMA or equivalent)
* Senior leadership of finance in a complex organisation (ideally public sector)
* Delivering strong financial management and value for money
* Leading and motivating multi-disciplinary professional teams through change
* Strategic planning and influencing at board level
* Building and maintaining broad, diverse stakeholder relationships
* Developing and delivering the strategic direction of a complex organisation.
* Promoting operational and professional excellence
