On behalf of National Savings & Investments, we are looking for a Data Migration Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a 6 month contract (potential extension) based Hybrid in London, Durham, Glasgow or Lytham St Annes. Join NS&I's largest transformation programme, leading a complex data migration from legacy systems to new supplier platforms. This is a high-impact role requiring strong leadership and technical understanding of data migration processes.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale data migration projects across multiple suppliers.
- Develop migration strategy, project plans, and risk logs.
- Coordinate vendors and internal teams; ensure smooth cutover and go-live.
- Oversee UAT, data validation, and post-migration stabilization.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and regulatory standards.
Essential Qualifications
- Strong data migration project delivery and governance expertise across large-scale, multi-supplier programs.
- Proven ability to plan and manage complex releases, coordinate cross-functional teams, track dependencies and ensure timely, high-quality delivery within constrained budgets.
- Experience leading large-scale, complex data migration projects (not just small migrations).
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, SSIS, Azure Data Factory) and migration methodologies (ETL, ELT, lift-and-shift, phased, big-bang).
- Understanding of data governance, quality, and compliance (GDPR).
